Chivas USA signs midfielder Raphael Wicky (AP)

Chivas USA signed midfielder Raphael Wicky, a World Cup veteran with more than a decade of professional experience in Germany, Spain and Switzerland. The 30-year-old player joins Chivas USA as an international player, pending receipt of his work visa and international transfer certificate, the team said Monday.

Ruiz to skip Guatemala's training camp because of knee injury (AP)

Although he's moving to the United States, Marcelo Gallardo might feel as if he's back in South America when he walks into the D.C. United locker room. United formally introduced their first acquisition under the so-called "Beckham rule" on Tuesday, welcoming the two-time World Cup midfielder from Argentina with a posh news conference at the National Press Club.
