Serious shyness has a potential for deep impact on the social activities of people. At some point in time, millions of people suffer from a disease called social anxiety. Unfortunately, there seems to be a common misconception that GAD is not really condition which needs to be taken seriously. In fact, a vast amount of people even believe that GAD is a condition which only weak minded people experience, but the fact is, this couldn’t be further from the truth. It is a well known fact that everyone is frightened of something, even if their fear has not been discovered yet. The one fear I would like to speak about today is Nephophobia. This word means that the sufferer has a fear of clouds. This fear, as with all fears, can mean that the person is suffering mild to severe anxiety symptoms.

The good news is that this is something that people are able to get over if they have access to the right help. There are some people who suffer so badly that they cannot even go outdoors, virtually prisoners in their own homes, but even they can get help so that they can take one step at a time.

Obsessive compulsive disorder symptoms may range from mild to severe. Sufferers often obsess over meticulous cleanliness, have repetitive thoughts, and experience anxiousness that may be much higher than in the average person. If left untreated, it can disrupt daily life. OCD is a mental disorder.

Perfectionists are often mistaken for OCD. While symptoms may be similar, it is rarely the case. Being a perfectionist is a healthy attitude, aiming for no less than perfect. People with OCD not only want to reach perfection, but they obsess over it. If perfection is not reached, it causes anxiety and they will obsess over it and may lose sleep over it.

Many people will experience anxiety during their lifetime. Some people only experience one or two panic attacks during a lifetimes. Other people live their lives in fear, because they have panic attacks on a daily basis. If you have ever had a panic attack then you know that it is an horrific experience.

If you are someone that has a history of repeated panic attacks, you will need to look for treatments to help you. When these attacks go untreated for a long period of time, you may find that your condition gets worse.

Someone who has been diagnosed with anxiety does not necessarily have depression as well. The same is true for those with depression. Although these disorders share similar physiological states and environmental triggers, one person does not have to have both. However, it is no surprise that most people suffering from anxiety usually have depression as well.

Someone who suffers from depression will experience intense feelings of sadness combined with feelings of worthlessness, hopelessness and helplessness for weeks, months or even years at a time.
