The University of Virginia says new men’s basketball coach Tony Bennett has agreed to “a memorandum of understanding” that will be pay him $1.7 million annually for five years.
A person familiar with the settlement says Michael Vick has agreed to pay the Atlanta Falcons $6.5 million as part of his bankruptcy case, clearing the way for the team to release him before training camp.
The person, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the settlement is not being announced publicly, said Tuesday the payment would release Vick from the $130 million, 10-year deal he signed with the team in December 2004.
