Jags send Peterson home; future with team unclear

Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio sent linebacker Mike Peterson home Wednesday, two days after Del Rio questioned his team's chemistry.

Peterson was not at practice, and officials said Del Rio planned to release a statement regarding the situation later Wednesday.

Peterson, who leads the Jaguars with 85 tackles, did not return a phone call seeking comment.

Iverson's status for Wednesday game still uncertain

Allen Iverson is questioning his status as an NBA superstar.

After being traded for the second time in his career, Iverson is awaiting the results of Chauncey Billups' physical before being allowed to play for Detroit.

"I'm starting to feel like a journeyman," Iverson said jokingly at the Pistons' shootaround before the game against the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday night.

NBA ref: People 'want to hear it from my mouth'

Referee Scott Foster broke his silence Tuesday, discussing his role in the NBA's betting scandal and his relationship with former official Tim Donaghy in published interviews.

Foster was tied to the scandal after it was reported in July that he and Donaghy took part in 134 phone calls from October 2006 to April 2007. There was no evidence of any criminal activity, but Foster was questioned about the calls during the FBI's investigation.
